Two Best friends traveling the World
Maggie: Aloha Kakou! (Hello to all) I just graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in Travel Industry Management. As much as I loved the island lifestyle, nothing quite compares to the beauty and culture of the great Pacific Northwest! In order to embark on some epic adventures with my bestie Sarah, I moved back to Washington! This Winter/Spring we'll be exploring the best of the Northwest including spending an extended period of time in Whistler, BC to Ski!
10 Fun Facts about me:
- I grew up in Medina, WA
- I love anything that includes Bernese Mountain Dogs
- I compose my own original raps
- I'm obsessed with Oatmeal (maple & brown sugar is my favorite)
- I live for being outdoors and like almost any extreme sport
- I summited Mt. Rainier in 2013
- My favorite T.V. show is Million Dollar Listing NYC
- Kevin Pearce changed my life (LOVE YOUR BRAIN)
- I play piano, guitar and aspiring harpist (my parents gifted me a harp when I was 12...)
- If I had one super power I'd want to talk to animals
Sarah: Kia Ora! (Be Well/Healthy) Just a little taste of the New Zealand culture that greatly impacted my life and aspirations. I'm a recent graduate from the University of Washington...GO DAWGS! I have a degree in Public Health which I hope to use as I attend graduate school for Physical Therapy. But there's time before school, and me and my best friend Maggie are exercising our Pacific Northwest roots to do some major exploring!
10 Fun Facts about me:
- I grew up in Camas, WA...yes our mascot is the Papermakers....yes it's fantastic!
- I have a scar on my side from a shark bite, or kidney surgery, but you'll never know which one
- In my eyes, Mt. Hood will always be the sexy-est Mountain
- I found my love for adrenaline in New Zealand
- I have to find a way to be outside everyday
- Running or jam sessions on the piano are my biggest stress releases
- I'm a sucker for boys in flannels and backwards hats
- I was on the jump rope team and used my skills to win a competition in Mexico
- I devote my Sunday's to church and family (and the Seahawks)
- Biggest goal: Change the lives of those who have less
Best friendship history & future: Sarah and I met in the Spring of 2011 while we were both attending the University of Washington. A big group of our friends rented a cabin just outside Mt. Rainier National Park where we both were lucky enough to spend Memorial Weekend. Sarah was rocking out Journey's "Don't Stop Believin" on the piano and I had to get the DL on how to play. You could say that was the start to our beautiful friendship. Things changed in the Fall of 2011 when I decided to transfer schools to the University of Hawaii at Manoa. However, the distance failed to separate us as friends and our friendship only grew stronger (and continues to grow stronger). Since we've met we have been on many wonderful adventures together. No matter what we do (skiing, wake boarding or dancing like maniacs), we always have a blast together. Sarah is an amazing friend and I feel so lucky to have her in my life (she puts up with my original raps, little dicky remixes and amateur novels... what a saint!). In the Winter of 2015 we will be hitting the road headed for Whistler, BC to spend the season up on the slopes!
